We each have all of the Doshas within us, but one or two may be more dominant in you. And according to Ayurveda, these are the ones you will need to focus on looking after first in order to bring balance.

There are many quizzes of varying lengths that can be completed to establish your unique Doshic mix. Following is a concise version from the AIAS, that we were given when I first started studying Ayurveda. Many thanks AIAS. After completing the quiz, you’ll see a total tally of the answers you gave presented to you, that related to each of the Doshas. This will help you understand which of the Doshas within you need extra special looking after and attention, as you go about your daily life.

At the conclusion of the quiz you’ll also be presented with seven Dosha mix options, one of which you can choose to select that you feel best describes your unique Doshic mix, and that aligns best with your quiz results. These options include :
Vata, Pitta, Kapha, Vata/Pitta/Kapha, Vata/Pitta, Vata/Kapha, Pitta/Kapha

If a large portion of your answers relates to only one Dosha choose that single Dosha box. If you have a near even tally for all three of the Doshas select the Vata/Pitta/Kapha (V/P/K) box. And if, which is more common, you have a blend of answers with two Doshas more dominant, choose the appropriate box for your tally. For example if Vata and Pitta answers dominate, you would choose the Vata/Pitta (V/P) box. Choosing a mix in this way will help you solidify your understanding of who you are from a Doshic perspective, and of course elementally.
